Index Calculation Process

  1. Data Aggregation: We collect the total number of food safety reports and the total number of locations (or other relevant metrics) for all brands included in the index.

  2. Index Calculation: We aggregate the total number of reports across all brands in the index group and divide by the total number of locations (or relevant count) for those brands. This method provides a weighted average that accurately represents the overall performance of the group, avoiding over or under-representation of any single brand's influence on the index.

  3. Benchmark Establishment: This calculated ratio becomes the benchmark index for that metric, representing incidents per location across the entire group.
